What is it like living in Marbella?
More people than ever before are moving to Marbella or investing in a vacation property along the cost. Costa del Sol is blessed with an average of 320 days of sun per year, so it is easy to understand why it is so popular to live here.
In the heart of Costa del Sun you will find Marbella. This is an international city where you can find English speaking people almost everywhere. The city lives off tourism, so the population has learned English on a decent level. However, learning Spanish is a useful and fun skill, and there are several good language schools in the area where you can learn Spanish and more about the Spanish culture.
Marbella and Andalucía offers lots of cultural activities that will give you that authentic Spanish feeling. Enjoy tapas in the old town of Marbella, attend a flamenco show or visit a local Chiringuito for the best paella in town.
If you want to explore more of the Spanish culture, you will find several popular cities within a short drive. You can visit big cities such as Málaga and Sevilla, or charming cities with great history, such as Cádiz, Istán, Ronda and Granada. In other words, it is not hard to get in touch with the authentic Spanish culture in Andalucía while staying in Marbella.
Marbella is also well known for it`s beaches and popular beach clubs, but you will find beautiful beaches all along the cost. The popular Marbella beaches can get a little crowded during the high season, so a good alternative is to take a short trip to beautiful Cadiz or Tarifa and you will find long unspoilt virgin beaches with white sand. Also perfect for surfing and kiteing.
As well as beautiful beaches you will also find beautiful mountains to explore in Marbella: La Concha, The Alpujarras and Cazorla are big magnificent mountains with forests full of wildlife, clear blue lakes and majestic rock formations. Perfect for hikes and getting some exercise after a few days enjoying the amazing food and wine that Marbella has to offer. Very often you will find that your own villa has a mountain-view, as well as a view of the sea.
Perfect for golf lovers
The Costa Del Sol is also called the Costa Del Golf. There are over 50 beautiful golf courses between Malaga and Gibraltar and many of those are world class championship standard. When you buy a property in Marbella we talk about property being front line golf (as opposed to front line beach) which means it has direct views of immaculately manicured gold lawns and landscaped trees.
