Moving to Marbella? Attractive Residential Areas

Moving to a new town can be a daunting one, however with the right advice and plenty of local knowledge, the decision can be made much easier. Our guide below offers recommendations for the best residential areas in the Marbella area and our reasons why. Read on to find out more.

Choosing the neighbourhood for your new home offers an opportunity to examine what matters most in terms of location and amenities. Perhaps peaceful serenity with close proximity to nature is a priority, or maybe being at the heart of the social life of this vibrant town is what appeals most. We have carefully chosen the areas below to offer a range of ambiences, with something to suit every need.

La Quinta

La Quinta is located in Benahavís municipality, within what is known as the ‘Golden Triangle’ real estate area. The residential community was developed around the prestigious Westin La Quinta Golf and Country Club, with its superb amenities including the exclusive 27-hole golf course, golf academy and driving range. Nestling on the gentle slopes of the Andalucian hills, this area offers peace and tranquillity and the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of this area. There are hills walks aplenty, where hardly a soul can be encountered – and yet, just a 10-minute drive away, lie the superb amenities of the bustling Costa del Sol coast. Properties here range from luxury apartments to ultra-exclusive, architecturally outstanding villas.
Nueva Andalucía

Nueva Andalucía

Neighbouring La Quinta is perhaps the most popular residential area in Marbella. This low-rise community is laid around the famous golf courses that have given the area the local nickname of Golf Valley. Despite the lower border touching with glitzy Puerto Banús, it has a quiet, refined ambience with tree-lined boulevards that wind around exclusive urbanisations of luxury apartment complexes and elegant villas set in lush, semi-tropical gardens. Nueva Andalucía offers a wealth of amenities, with Centro Plaza a hub of buzzing restaurants, with the famous market that is held here every Saturday, as well as an embarrassment of upscale bars and eateries. While Nueva Andalucía offers a huge range of facilities and amenities, Puerto Banús and Marbella are just minutes away. This area is perfect for those searching the best of all worlds – peace and tranquillity with the option to seek out the gourmet restaurants of the Golden Mile or the buzzy excitement of Marbella´s exclusive beach clubs.

The Golden Mile

This iconic area, running either side of the avenue that connects Puerto Banús to Marbella, is the location for some of the most prestigious real estate in Marbella. The exclusive Marbella Club and Puente Romano hotels have been attracting the international jet-set since the 1950s, with properties growing up around to service the visitors who, realising the beauty of the area and the benefits of the year-round mild climate, wanted a home here too. Luxury homes within the Puente Romano and Marbella Club estates are so exclusive that many people will wait years for the right one to become available, while Los Verdiales is luxury Marbella’s best-kept secret, offering secluded, secure luxury right next to the Michelin stars and gastronomic heights of Marbella’s finest restaurateurs.
